Your greenery will arrive looking thirsty and sleepy. This is completely NORMAL. Please see our Flower Care tab on this page to learn how to properly care for and handle your flowers.

Package contents and prices are based on availability and may change due to weather and market conditions. If a substitution is necessary, we take great care to ensure your order closely matches your original flower choice, even if this means substituting flowers of higher value. In such cases, we may proceed with substitutions to ensure your order ships on schedule, even without prior verbal confirmation.

Caring for Your Greenery

Greenery is shipped fresh directly from our farms to your doorstep. When you first open the box, your greens might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These have just completed an international journey and need water. Following the important care and preparation steps below will help rehydrate them and ensure they last as long as possible.

Greenery Care Steps – From Arrival to Use

Step 1: Unpack and Inspect

  • Unpack Promptly: Cut any straps to remove greenery from the box. As you unpack, check your blooms for any visible concerns.

  • Process Immediately: Begin the steps below immediately upon opening the box to ensure your flowers rehydrate and recover from their journey. Again, don’t worry if they appear sleepy or thirsty—they will perk up beautifully with proper care.

Step 2: Prepare the Containers

  • Choose Clean Buckets or Vases: Ensure your containers are clean and sanitized to remove soap residue, bacteria, and dirt, which can shorten flower life.

  • Fill Containers: Add at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water, and mix in flower food if available.

Step 3: Trim and Place in Water

  • Remove Packaging: Take off any rubber bands or plastic sleeves protecting the greens.

  • Remove Foliage Below the Waterline: Strip leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent mold or bacteria growth.

  • Trim the Stems: Use clean, sharp floral shears to cut stems diagonally about 1 inch from the bottom. Avoid household scissors, as they pinch the stems and block water absorption.

  • Place Immediately: Place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water immediately, ensuring enough space in each container to allow the greenery to hydrate properly.

Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain

  • Hydration Time: Allow your greenery to hydrate for a minimum of 4 hours, although 8 hours is ideal.

  • Storage: Store your hydrated greenery in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Avoid placing in a refrigerator.

  • Monitor Water Levels: Greenery drinks heavily upon arrival, so check frequently to ensure all stems are always submerged. If the water drops below the stems, refill immediately and recut them before placing them back in the container.

Step 5: Time to Design

  • Ready to Arrange: After completing the hydration and processing steps above, your greenery is ready for design.

  • Recut and Maintain: As you design, make sure to recut the stems and maintain water levels.

  • Refresh Regularly: Change water daily and recut stems every 24-48 hours to keep greenery fresh.

Beautiful Blooms

I couldn't have asked for more beautiful flowers for my wedding. Every florist I spoke with made everything more complicated than it needed to be and way more expensive. If I had to go back and do this again, I would choose FiftyFlowers.com again. I had my bridesmaids make their own bouquets and it ended up being a nice bonding activity since most of them didn't know each other. This was a great choice. I wish I had my pictures back so I could share them.

Very thick stems

Different variety than I’ve used before. Stems were very thick. Unfortunately, I think I’m alllergic to this plant as it smelled so foul I couldn’t handle it myself, and the back of my throat was burning. My mom and friend were completely fine though.

Hi Julia,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about the Variegated Pittosporum Greens. We truly appreciate your honest review and the additional information you provided about the stem characteristics.
I'm saddened to hear that you experienced an allergic reaction to this variety of pittosporum. Your safety and comfort are our top priority, and we completely understand how concerning that must have been for you. It's interesting that your mom and friend were fine - individual sensitivities to plants can vary greatly from person to person.
We appreciate you noting that these don't have multiple stems per branch like some other pittosporum varieties, as you can see on the pictures. This information is valuable for helping other customers understand what to expect with this specific product.
Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback, Julia. It helps us serve our customers better and ensures others have the information they need when making their selections.
Best regards,

Honestly now that you ask….they weren’t variegated!!

The balance of the order was nice…with the exception of of the dyed carnations. I was hesitant about them at first before I ordered , but wanted another blue flower….they were not like the picture….and we did not even use.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We sincerely apologize for your experience with the Variegated Pittosporum Greens and Industrial Blue Carnations. We understand that the carnations were not as expected and that this impacted your order.
Our product descriptions do state that the exact color tones of our flowers may vary from what you see on your screen, especially with dyed flowers like our blue carnations. These variations occur because flowers are natural products, and the dyeing process can result in slight differences in color.
We're glad to hear that you were satisfied with most of your order, including the Feverfew Daisy, Blue Delphinium, Nigella Baby Blue Flowers, Blue Thistle, and White Designer Lisianthus Flower. However, we want to ensure that every aspect of your purchase meets your expectations.
For any inquiries, please contact us directly at cservice@fiftyflowers.com. We kindly ask that you report any claims within 24 hours. If you have photos showing the pitt not being variegated, we would be happy to resolve this for you. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will use it to improve our products and services.
Thank you again for choosing FiftyFlowers. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
