Please Note
Your flowers will arrive looking thirsty and sleepy. This is completely NORMAL. Please see our Flower Care tab on this page to learn how to properly care for and handle your flowers.
As flowers are a natural product of Mother Nature and monitor resolutions can differ, the exact color tones of this flower may vary to some degree.
Package contents and prices are based on availability and may change due to weather and market conditions. If a substitution is necessary, we take great care to ensure your order closely matches your original flower choice, even if this means substituting flowers of higher value. While we will make every effort to contact you, there may be rare instances where we are unable to reach you in time. In such cases, we may proceed with substitutions to ensure your order ships on schedule, even without prior verbal confirmation.
Caring for Your Hyacinth
Hyacinth flowers are shipped directly from our farms. Before shipping, we prepare them for their journey with proper hydration methods. If your flowers appear "sleepy" or "thirsty" after their journey, this is completely normal. Follow the care steps below to help them hydrate and bloom beautifully.
Flower Care Steps – From Arrival to Arrangement
Step 1: Unpack and Inspect
Unpack Carefully: Cut any straps to remove the flowers from the box, but do not remove the rubber bands holding the bunches together.
Avoid Sun and Heat: Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts, or excessive heat until you're ready to process.
Step 2: Prepare the Containers
Fill with Water: Fill clean containers with at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water.
Add Floral Food: Use floral food to nourish the blooms and prevent bacteria growth. If you don’t have any, it can be purchased from most local florists.
Step 3: Trim and Place in Water
Remove Foliage Below Waterline: Strip any leaves that will fall below the waterline, as they can rot and cause bacteria buildup.
Cut Stems Correctly: Using sharp floral shears or scissors, cut about 1 inch from the bottom of each stem diagonally under running water.
Place Immediately: Place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water right away.
Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain
Hydration Time: Allow at least 4 hours to hydrate — Hyacinths may take up to 12 hours to fully perk up.
Monitor Water Levels: Hyacinths drink heavily upon arrival. Check frequently to ensure stems remain submerged.
Change Water Regularly: Refresh water every 24 to 48 hours, or when it becomes cloudy, to keep blooms fresh.
Temperature Influence: Warm environments will encourage faster blooming, while cooler environments will help slow down the process and prolong vase life.
Step 5: Time to Design
Ready to Arrange: Once hydrated, your Hyacinths are ready to use in arrangements. Keep them cool and watered until your event.
