As flowers are a natural product of Mother Nature and monitor resolutions can differ, the exact color tones of this flower may vary to some degree.

Package contents and prices are based on availability and may change due to weather and market conditions. If a substitution is necessary, we take great care to ensure your order closely matches your original flower choice, even if this means substituting flowers of higher value. While we will make every effort to contact you, there may be rare instances where we are unable to reach you in time. In such cases, we may proceed with substitutions to ensure your order ships on schedule, even without prior verbal confirmation.

Caring for Your Garden Roses

Our flowers are shipped fresh directly from our farms to your doorstep. When you first open the box, your flowers might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These flowers have just completed an international journey and need water. Following the important care and preparation steps below will help rehydrate them and ensure they last as long as possible.

Flower Care Steps – From Arrival to Arrangement

Step 1: Unpack and Inspect

  • Unpack and Inspect: Cut any straps to remove flowers from the box, but leave their protective packaging on for the first 4 hours of hydration. As you unpack, check your blooms for any visible concerns.

  • Process Immediately: Begin the steps below immediately upon opening the box to ensure your flowers rehydrate and recover from their journey.

Step 2: Prepare the Containers

  • Choose Clean Buckets or Vases: Ensure your containers are clean and sanitized to remove soap residue, bacteria, and dirt, which can shorten flower life.

  • Fill Containers: Add at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water, and mix in flower food if available.

Step 3: Trim and Place in Water

  • Remove Foliage Below the Waterline: Strip leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent mold or bacteria growth.

  • Cut Stems Correctly: Use clean, sharp floral shears to cut stems diagonally about 1 inch from the bottom. Avoid household scissors, as they pinch the stems and block water absorption.

  • Place and Space: Place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water immediately, ensuring enough space in each container to allow the flowers to bloom properly.

Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain

  • Hydration Time: Allow flowers at least 4 hours to hydrate, though 8 to 12 hours is ideal. After hydrating, remove protective packaging and guard petals (outer layers that may look bruised or brown).

  • Store in a Cool Place: Keep flowers in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Avoid placing them in a refrigerator, as this can harm flowers.

  • Monitor Water Levels: Flowers drink heavily upon arrival, so check frequently to ensure all stems are always submerged. If the water drops below the stems, refill immediately and recut them before placing them back in the container.

Step 5: Time to Design

  • Ready to Arrange: After completing the hydration and processing steps above, your flowers are now ready for design.

  • Recut and Maintain: As you design, make sure to recut the stems and maintain water levels.

  • Refresh Regularly: Change water daily and recut stems every 24-48 hours to keep flowers fresh.

Tips from Our Experts

  • Always keep flower buds above the bucket or vase rim to prevent your blooms from bruising.

  • Warm environments speed up blooming, while cooler areas slow it down. Adjust storage as needed, but always avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat.

  • Use a floral finishing spray after arranging blooms to help them last longer.

Precautions

  • Thorns: Flowers with thorns require extra care. Wear gloves when handling them, and consider using a thorn stripping tool for added ease and safety.

Beautiful wedding flowers

I ordered flowers for my sons wedding. Everything I ordered from Fifty Flowers was top notch! All of the flowers were packaged very secure. Once I processed all of the flowers, they all were open very beautifully for the wedding a couple of days later. I was very happy with my purchases. My only issue was that I ordered too many and had to give lots of flowers away. I would order from Fifty Flowers again!

Hi Tiffany,

I'm so happy to hear that our flowers made your special moment even more unforgettable! We take great pride in hand-selecting our flowers for optimal bloom, color, and peak time, so that they look their best on your big day.

I'm glad to hear that you followed our flower care instructions. It's important to process the flowers properly to ensure that they last as long as possible.

Having too many flowers is a wonderful problem to have! I'm sure the people you gave them to were very happy.

Thank you for your continued support. We're honored to be a part of your special moments. Please keep us in mind for any future events!

Another last minute add that I'm so happy we went with! These garden roses are so fluffy and opened up beautifully. They were pretty thorny, but very easy to clean up. Another perfect pink for our bouquets and decorations.

Valentine’s Day Flowers

I had originally asked for a Valentine’s Day delivery. Contacted by a rep suggesting I change the delivery to be on the safe side, I moved it to the 13th. Flowers were delivered on the 12th… So…no Valentine’s Day surprise. Roses were also just ok as opposed to the really wonderful one’s received in the past. Browned edges. Needed to pick up some baby’s breath to make them workable.

Hi P,

We’re glad you could make the roses work! Still, we understand they weren't quite the quality you expect from FiftyFlowers, and for that, we sincerely apologize. To ensure your flowers arrive in peak condition and have time to fully hydrate, we do recommend delivery 2-3 days before your event and FedEx sometimes anticipates delays and sends packages earlier to prevent them.

However, please remember that if you're not happy with your flowers after you've hydrated them, you can let us know right away and we'll fix it. We're always happy to make things right! In case there are any questions or concerns in the future, please feel free to reach us at 1877 50 ROSES

Thank you for choosing us!
