Our flowers are shipped directly from our farms to your doorstep. Before shipping your flowers, we prepare them for their journey with proper hydration methods. If your flowers appear sleepy and thirsty after their journey it is absolutely NORMAL. Follow these simple steps to ensure your flowers have the proper care.

  1. When your boxes arrive, it is important that you get your flowers in water as quickly as possible. Open your boxes and remove any protective packaging, such as foam or paper.
  2. Inspect your flowers.*
  3. Gather buckets or containers to hold the flowers. Ensure your buckets or containers are very clean. We recommend rinsing them with warm water.
  4. Fill the containers with at least 4 inches of fresh, cold water. If flower food is available, follow the package directions for adding it to the water.
  5. Cut any straps and remove flowers from the box. Remove any rubber bands or plastic sleeves securing flower bunches together.
  6. Remove any foliage that would fall below the waterline. Leaves below the waterline may cause bacteria to form, shortening the life of your flowers.
  7. Using sharp flower shears or scissors, cut stems diagonally under cool, running water. Cut about an inch off of each stem.
  8. Immediately after cutting the stem, place the flower in the prepared water.
  9. Ensure that you have sufficient room in each bucket for the amount of stems you will be storing. Do not overcrowd your containers. Overcrowding may damage stems and blooms and effect the blooming process.
  10. Allow flowers at least 4 hours to hydrate, flowers may take up to 12 hours to properly hydrate. Periodically check the water levels, flowers drink a lot of water when they first arrive and the water may need to be refilled.
  11. Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts or extreme temperatures. Flowers should be stored in a cool, dry area until ready to use.
  12. Change water every 24 hours to keep flowers fresh.

*If upon first inspection, you foresee a problem with your flowers, do not proceed processing your order. Leave the flowers intact in the box and call us immediately at 1-877-50 ROSES (507-6737)

Dreamy Lake wedding

I got married to the man of my dreams on the lake on a 90 degree day in August. My flowers were the one thing that went off without any complaints from me. I wanted a lot of bang for my buck and that's what I received. My wedding was on a Saturday so all of my flowers were delivered on Thursday which you will receive multiple text messages warning you about don't worry, but if you are getting anywhere near the amount of flowers that I did I would suggest taking the day off and maybe having some one come over to help. For one, you don't really know what time they are going to show up at, but also it takes way more time to unpack and place them all into buckets of water then I had imagined. Like by myself, it was pretty much an all day deal including a run to home depot for more their signature orange buckets because those flowers are big and you don't want to smash them together. I had about 15 buckets of flowers by the time everything was unpacked. The next day, Friday evening, (I had my rehearsal Thursday FYI which is a good idea if your doing this) I had 3 of my bridesmaids come over to help put together all of the centerpieces bouquets and corsages and it took about 4 hours. For the bridesmaids bouquets I had them put them together and put the floral tape around the stems to keep them together, but didn't cut the long stems and just put them back into a bucket of water for the night and then cut them and wrapped them more the morning of the wedding. For my bouquet I wanted more of a round cascade so I looked up videos on youtube on how to make a cascade bouquet and bought a bouquet holder that you dip in water before you put the flowers in for $5 on amazon. It's pretty easy once you figure out how long to cut your stems. As for the boutonnieres, the roses in this package are way to big not to look stupid as boutonnieres even if you just did the single rose thing. Instead I ended up picking up some of those boutonniere vase things at Micheals for like $8, but you can get them anywhere if you get them ahead of time. Then we just wrapped a couple of the carnations and baby's breath with floral tape and stuck them in. My main worry was that if we put the flowers together Friday afternoon, could they hold up without being in water until Saturday evening for the wedding and the answer is yes they will be fine. My bouquets I was bit more careful with like I said since I knew they were going to be heavily pictured but all my centerpieces were exactly the same the next day without having had any water. I kept all the flowers in my garage FYI and it was 90 degrees out the whole time they were in there.

Great flowers for a September wedding

After reading tons of reviews I bit the bullet and ordered from Fifty Flowers. Their customer service was excellent. I got confirmation calls and emails and everything arrived on time as promised. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again. Even my wedding photographer thought my flowers had been professionally done : )

DIY Vintage Whimsical Inspired Wedding

When planning my wedding I wanted the flowers to be simple yet elegant. I knew that I wanted to make my own bouquet and that I had some creative and crafty friends that could help me create our centerpieces. We had a flower party the day before the wedding and I'd have to say it really brought everyone together and created a bond that I wouldn't have had otherwise. It was great! The flowers arrived very promptly. They were more beautiful that I could imagine. The wedding took place at Mercury Hall in Austin, Texas. My bridal bouquet was made of Garden Roses, Roses, Veronica, Scabiosa Pods, Lisianthus, and Spray Roses. I bound the bouquet with one of my grandmother's handkerchiefs and a custom made ribbon that said "to have and to hold". My bridesmaid bouquets were simply made with white veronicas and bound with twine. All of the centerpieces were absolutely stunning! I'm so impressed with FiftyFlower's quality and customer service. I was nervous about getting the flowers but, my expectations were blown away!
