Flower Forecast: 2023 Wedding Trends

Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season. Love is in the air, and the sparkly new rings of recently engaged future brides are dazzling. This year will bring happiness and many adventures. A new year also means new ideas, especially for weddings. Our FiftyFlowers team researched and gathered our favorite event design crazes and tips for incorporating them. This is our flower forecast for 2023 wedding trends.

Nontraditional

The first 2023 Wedding Trend is thinking outside the box and incorporating personality. Big and bold is in. After wedding delays and minimonies the past few years, people want to celebrate big time with one-of-a-kind events that reflect their personal lives. There's a strong transition into focusing on experiences instead of typical wedding traditions like the garter toss, wedding favors, and buffet catering. 

Design a tropical bouquet if you love the beach, even if you're entirely landlocked. Add black metallic preserved roses to your centerpieces, or have a flower wall of rainbow-tinted mums. Feel free to get married at sunrise in an orange dress with breakfast tacos and a champagne claw machine covered in luscious garland if that's your style!

Bold colors paired together will also be on the rise for 2023 weddings. Couples are letting their wild sides out and doing whatever feels right. They prioritize their personal preferences over traditional wedding standards and other pressures.

Retro

Whoever said disco was dead clearly isn’t getting married in 2023. Color blocking, roller skates, the hustle, and your grandma’s favorite prints are back. Dust off those wide-leg pants and rent out the local vintage bowling alley.

Arches

Unique balloon displays and floral arches will continue as a 2023 Wedding Trend. Make this trend interesting by mixing unexpected pieces or creating surprising shapes. 

Try adding a beautiful arch to the entrance to your venue. This sets the tone for your reception and lets your guests have creative photo opportunities. This adds flair to the typically drab fabric if you have a tent.

Barbiecore Pink and Pearls

Barbiecore is taking the world by storm. Thank you, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling! These girly details are everywhere but with a twist. A strand of pearls will always be a wedding classic, but what about edible pearls on a cake or pearl-encrusted shoes? It's all about feminine, flirty fun.  

Incorporate bold hot pink peony roses into your arrangements or watermelon ranunculus like the Sweetwater Galentine's Flower Collection. Try a monochromatic pink design like our Bright Pink Flower Pack.

Finish the look with hot pink dresses and accessories, vintage pink Cadillac getaway cars, and rosy doll-inspired makeup.
