Periwinkle Wedding: Pantone's 2022 Color of the Year

Pantone has announced the 2022 Color of the Year: Very Peri! According to Pantone, this beautiful periwinkle hue is symbolic of confidence, curiosity, and a creative spirit. (Qualities we could all use more of in the new year!) You can stay on top of this new color trend with a periwinkle wedding palette.

As the saying goes: "something borrowed, something blue..." Very Peri (PANTONE 17-3938) combines blue, violet, and red undertones for a soothing yet exciting color. We've seen lavender and jewel-toned weddings come back in style over the past year, and Pantone's new choice for the color of the year confirms that shades of purple will be trending in 2022. Whether you love pretty purples or are feeling inspired by this new and distinct hue from Pantone, here is some periwinkle wedding inspiration just for you:

Why Choose a Periwinkle Wedding?

Why use the 2022 Pantone Color of the Year at your wedding? For starters, a periwinkle wedding is a great way to stay on trend while also keeping your big day classic and timeless. Purple and lavender have remained popular wedding colors over the years, making it a safe choice for those who want their wedding pictures to stay in style down the road. At the same time, Very Peri puts a unique spin on the classic purple color, making it one-of-a-kind and on trend for 2022 weddings.

When choosing your wedding colors, you'll also want to consider the emotions that each hue will evoke. In this case, periwinkle will bring feelings of relaxation and peace to your big day. According to Leatrice Eiseman from Pantone, Very Peri also "displays a spritely, joyous attitude" that will bring excitement to one of the happiest moments of your life.
