Our floral story starts almost 2 decades ago with growing and DIYing my older sister's flowers for her wedding. Growing flowers in Central Wisconsin is a gamble that's for sure! My mom and I had done 6 weddings together as incredible amateurs, but this time I had a plan. I watched hours of videos and tutorials. I looked at photos and made recipes. We started with prepping the flowers as a team of 4 after the delivery on Tuesday for a Saturday wedding. On Wednesday we "greened" out the arrangements. Thursday we started adding the flowers and finished on Friday. Friday night I made bouquets as a way to calm my nerves. My mother-in-law took the deliveries and helped with the flower prep. My dad did all the running and pulled guard and bruised petals. My mom made my dream come true. I wanted flowers on flowers on flowers....but had a budget. I gave her the recipes and directions for the large table arrangements and she did her magic. It was a great experience for both of us and if I had to do it over again I wouldn't change a thing, well maybe I would remember to wrap our bouquets with ribbon before we started to get dressed. We decided on pocket square bouts which were so easy and "man glam." We had tall arrangements, short arrangements, bud vases galore! Overall, we saved nearly $10k by tackling the floral aspect ourselves. I was able to have my dream flowers without cutting corners! Friends took arrangements home and said the flowers were still beautiful 2 weeks later. The anemones were amazing! Through research I was told to expect quite a few to be unusable but we only had 3 buds that couldn't be used and one was because I sat on it. Our venue even asked if I would be willing to be their in-house florist! People are still talking about how gorgeous our flowers were. Side note: keep all your guard petals for your flower girls, lining the aisles and a flower toss photo! Our day was absolute magic and the florals were a major part of that!

Our flowers are shipped directly from our farms to your doorstep. Before shipping your flowers, we prepare them for their journey with proper hydration methods. If your flowers appear sleepy and thirsty after their journey it is absolutely NORMALFollow these simple steps to ensure your flowers have the proper care.

  1. When your boxes arrive, it is important that you get your flowers in water as quickly as possible. Open your boxes and remove any protective packaging, such as foam or paper.
  2. Inspect your flowers.*
  3. Gather buckets or containers to hold the flowers. Ensure your buckets or containers are very clean. We recommend rinsing them with warm water.
  4. Fill the containers with at least 4 inches of fresh, cold water. If flower food is available, follow the package directions for adding it to the water.
  5. Cut any straps and remove flowers from the box. Remove any rubber bands or plastic sleeves securing flower bunches together.
  6. Remove any foliage that would fall below the waterline. Leaves below the waterline may cause bacteria to form, shortening the life of your flowers.
  7. Using sharp flower shears or scissors, cut stems diagonally under cool, running water. Cut about an inch off of each stem.
  8. Immediately after cutting the stem, place the flower in the prepared water.
  9. Ensure that you have sufficient room in each bucket for the amount of stems you will be storing. Do not overcrowd your containers. Overcrowding may damage stems and blooms and effect the blooming process.
  10. Allow flowers at least 4 hours to hydrate, flowers may take up to 12 hours to properly hydrate. Periodically check the water levels, flowers drink a lot of water when they first arrive and the water may need to be refilled.
  11. Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts or extreme temperatures. Flowers should be stored in a cool, dry area until ready to use.
  12. Change water every 24 hours to keep flowers fresh.

*If upon first inspection, you foresee a problem with your flowers, do not proceed processing your order. Leave the flowers intact in the box and call us immediately at 1-877-50 ROSES (507-6737)
