Please Note

Your greenery will arrive looking thirsty and sleepy. This is completely NORMAL. Please see our Flower Care tab on this page to learn how to properly care for and handle your flowers.

As flowers are a natural product of Mother Nature and monitor resolutions can differ, the exact color tones of this flower may vary to some degree.

Package contents and prices are based on availability and may change due to weather and market conditions. If a substitution is necessary, we take great care to ensure your order closely matches your original flower choice, even if this means substituting flowers of higher value. While we will make every effort to contact you, there may be rare instances where we are unable to reach you in time. In such cases, we may proceed with substitutions to ensure your order ships on schedule, even without prior verbal confirmation.

Caring for Your Greenery

Greenery is shipped fresh directly from our farms to your doorstep. When you first open the box, your greens might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These have just completed an international journey and need water. Following the important care and preparation steps below will help rehydrate them and ensure they last as long as possible.

Greenery Care Steps – From Arrival to Use

Step 1: Unpack and Inspect

  • Unpack Promptly: Cut any straps to remove greenery from the box. As you unpack, check your blooms for any visible concerns.

  • Process Immediately: Begin the steps below immediately upon opening the box to ensure your flowers rehydrate and recover from their journey. Again, don’t worry if they appear sleepy or thirsty—they will perk up beautifully with proper care.

Step 2: Prepare the Containers

  • Choose Clean Buckets or Vases: Ensure your containers are clean and sanitized to remove soap residue, bacteria, and dirt, which can shorten flower life.

  • Fill Containers: Add at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water, and mix in flower food if available.

Step 3: Trim and Place in Water

  • Remove Packaging: Take off any rubber bands or plastic sleeves protecting the greens.

  • Remove Foliage Below the Waterline: Strip leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent mold or bacteria growth.

  • Trim the Stems: Use clean, sharp floral shears to cut stems diagonally about 1 inch from the bottom. Avoid household scissors, as they pinch the stems and block water absorption.

  • Place Immediately: Place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water immediately, ensuring enough space in each container to allow the greenery to hydrate properly.

Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain

  • Hydration Time: Allow your greenery to hydrate for a minimum of 4 hours, although 8 hours is ideal.

  • Storage: Store your hydrated greenery in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Avoid placing in a refrigerator.

  • Monitor Water Levels: Greenery drinks heavily upon arrival, so check frequently to ensure all stems are always submerged. If the water drops below the stems, refill immediately and recut them before placing them back in the container.

Step 5: Time to Design

  • Ready to Arrange: After completing the hydration and processing steps above, your greenery is ready for design.

  • Recut and Maintain: As you design, make sure to recut the stems and maintain water levels.

  • Refresh Regularly: Change water daily and recut stems every 24-48 hours to keep greenery fresh.

Birthday!

The carnations were in very good condition and lasted roughly 2 full weeks. Most came tight and bloomed open within the first two days.

Natural, Bohemian & Lively Flowers for Breanne & J

My daughter Breanne had a very specific vision for her wedding- and that required me to make her centerpieces & decorating the ceremony! The vision was of vibrant, colorful flowers and overflowing greenery, inside the beautiful white restored-barn venue tucked up in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I made each of these flower boxes and used the beautiful garden roses and eucalyptus that were delivered from fifty flowers. My husband made the wooden boxes by hand! Then came as expected and on time. They were luscious and we definitely had plenty with what we ordered! The results were incredible. It was definitely a task to coordinate everything the morning of, but it was so worth it for Breanne and Jeff to have the perfect day!

Planning a wedding is very stressful. My Mother took the initiative on handling the flowers through a DIY option through Fifty Flowers. I was so happy and couldn't wait to see what she could do! We had a simple sunflower and babies breath theme. I was so excited to see how the flowers would turn out. They arrived early in the morning just days before the wedding. There were so many! As we unpacked them into buckets/coolers/sinks/jars, etc, it was easy to see how beautiful they were! It was overwhelming! My Mother had a 'recipe' on how we would put them together. The sunflowers, babies breath, and several choices of greenery (filler) filled my basement and looked like a flower wonderland. After a night of letting them all 'drink', we spent the entire next day trimming, separating, and creating the most beautiful bouquets I'd ever seen! We created 6 big beautiful bouquets for my bridesmaids, and 1 even bigger bouquet for me. We used 11 sunflowers in mine! They were so incredibly gorgeous. The boutineer package for the men was perfect! Everything was so perfect and we couldn't have asked for more! No complaints :) We even had extra to create mini-bouquets for my Mother-in- law, my Mom, Aunts and both of my Grandmothers. We also put babies breath in mason jars to hang on the chairs- gorgeous! The smiles on our faces will forever be remembered. THANK YOU Fifty Flowers!

My wedding

I was very satisfied with Fifty Flowers when I used them to plan my wedding! Everyone I spoke to in the phone was incredibly helpful and kind. They called me several times to confirm and double check my order, which made me feel very confident since buying flowers online can make you a little nervous. My original choice of purple ranunculus ended up being out of stock so a few days before my order was due they called me and let me choose any other flower as a substitute. Even though I did not get my original choice I felt like they handled the change very professionally and made sure I was satisfied in the end. I highly recommend Fifty Flowers if you want to save money and don't mind making your flower arrangements on your own or with help. I would definitely use this company again.
