Package contents and prices are based on availability and may change due to weather and market conditions. If a substitution is necessary, we take great care to ensure your order closely matches your original flower choice, even if this means substituting flowers of higher value. Caring for Your Larkspur

Our flowers are shipped fresh directly from our farms to your doorstep. When you first open the box, your flowers might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These flowers have just completed an international journey and need water. Following the important care and preparation steps below will help rehydrate them and ensure they last as long as possible.

Flower Care Steps – From Arrival to Arrangement

Step 1: Unpack and Inspect

  • Unpack and Inspect: Cut any straps to remove flowers from the box, but leave their protective packaging on for the first 4 hours of hydration. As you unpack, check your blooms for any visible concerns.

  • Process Immediately: Begin the steps below immediately upon opening the box to ensure your flowers rehydrate and recover from their journey. Again, don’t worry if they appear sleepy or thirsty—they will perk up beautifully with proper care.

Step 2: Prepare the Containers

  • Choose Clean Buckets or Vases: Ensure your containers are clean and sanitized to remove soap residue, bacteria, and dirt, which can shorten flower life.

  • Fill Containers: Add at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water, and mix in flower food if available.

Step 3: Trim and Place in Water

  • Remove Foliage Below the Waterline: Strip leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent mold or bacteria growth.

  • Cut Stems Correctly: Use clean, sharp floral shears to cut stems diagonally about 1 inch from the bottom. Avoid household scissors, as they pinch the stems and block water absorption.

  • Place and Space: Place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water immediately, ensuring enough space in each container to allow the flowers to bloom properly.

Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain

  • Hydration Time: After the initial 4-hour hydration period, remove protective packaging, strip additional leaves and thorns (if applicable).

  • Re-cut and Space: Give your flowers another fresh cut and place them in your prepared buckets. You may need to spread your stems out into more buckets to give them even more room to bloom. It is important not to overcrowd your buckets. Allow your flowers to continue to hydrate for another 8 hours before beginning the design process.

  • Store in a Cool Place: Keep flowers in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Avoid placing them in a refrigerator, as this can harm flowers.

  • Monitor Water Levels: Flowers drink heavily upon arrival, so check frequently to ensure all stems are always submerged. If the water drops below the stems, refill immediately and recut them before placing them back in the container.

Step 5: Time to Design

  • Ready to Arrange: After completing the hydration and processing steps above, your flowers are now ready for design.

  • Recut and Maintain: As you design, make sure to recut the stems and maintain water levels.

  • Refresh Regularly: Change water daily and recut stems every 24-48 hours to keep flowers fresh.

Tips from Our Experts

  • Always keep flower buds above the bucket or vase rim to prevent your blooms from bruising.

  • Warm environments speed up blooming, while cooler areas slow it down. Adjust storage as needed, but always avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat.

  • Use a floral finishing spray after arranging blooms to help them last longer.

In order to help cut costs for our wedding, my husband's grandmother offered to help arrange our flowers as she is a retired florist. We had gone back and forth between local flower marts and online ordering when a friend recommended FiftyFlowers. After looking through all the amazing options FiftyFlowers had to offer, I submitted my order and crossed my fingers everything would arrive on time and last through my event. The team at FiftyFlowers was extremely helpful from submitting the order, to confirm the order and arrival dates, to delivering the flowers. I was promptly notified at each stage in the process and my flowers arrived absolutely perfect! They lasted through transportation to the hotel and venue for the day of, and my bridal party helped grandma arrange everything flawlessly. I would highly recommend FiftyFlowers to anyone looking for event flowers, they looked and smelled absolutely beautiful long after my wedding day!

Burgundy Winter Rustic Glam

Our wedding was in NC in February and we got super lucky with clear skies and a high of 68! I was too nervous to DIY our personal flowers (bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages) so we got all of those from the English Garden Florist of Raleigh. I knew I couldn't afford to get all of the flowers and the garland I wanted from a florist, so Fifty Flowers was the perfect solution. I loved all of their options even though it was so hard to pick which flowers to order (mostly because I'm indecisive)!!! With the help of my mom and one of my bridesmaids, I created 15 table arrangements, about 50 bud vases, one arrangement in milk glass for the barrel in our arbor, two mug arrangements for our bar, 6 arrangements for patio tables, and we added an assortment of flowers to the premade seeded eucalyptus garland we ordered. I was worried the garland flowers wouldn't make it all day Saturday even though we added them late Friday night, but I was easily able to reach customer service and they told me to spray it with water. The garland and cut flowers we added to it looked beautiful all day/night for the wedding!

All of the flowers were exactly what I expected thanks to numerous conversations with Violet (thank you!) We used the anemones at our rehearsal dinner on Friday night in recycled brown beer bottles, and then reused them in some of our arrangements for the wedding. The burgundy carnations, seeded eucalyptus, light pink roses, and petite purpleberry roses were used in arrangements, bud vases, and the garland. The black bacarra roses were the prettiest roses I have ever seen and loved how unique they were! I think the hardest part of our wedding was parting with all of the flowers the next day! We decided to donate a lot of them to nursing homes since we had an 8 hour drive back to OH where we live and were leaving for our honeymoon right after. We hope that the residents got just as much enjoyment from these gorgeous flowers as we did!

Beautiful Addition to DIY outdoor wedding

Flowers arrived timely (by 10am the day they were to be delivered). My mom and I had no idea what we were doing (we had to go buy buckets to put them in, so anyone new to flowers, be sure to have some large buckets on hand!)

We opened them all up, they were package tight and did not look to be damaged. We trimmed the stems and put them in water right away. I made simple bouquets and we banded those together that same day. The other flowers were being used in mason jars (we hung them on shepherds hooks to line the aisle, then moved the mason jars inside for centerpieces). I cut and arranged those the morning of. We had to transport the flowers to our venue (2 hours away). I put them in a cooler with some ice packs because I was worried about them falling over otherwise. Worked well. We were able to make sure the mason jars were extra full and we still had a few extra flowers.

I received so many compliments on my bouquet and flowers. I couldn't be happier with the flowers and the service from FiftyFlowers.com.
