Please Note

Your flowers will arrive looking thirsty and sleepy. This is completely NORMAL. Please see our Flower Care tab on this page to learn how to properly care for and handle your flowers.

As flowers are a natural product of Mother Nature and monitor resolutions can differ, the exact color tones of this flower may vary to some degree.

Package contents and prices are based on availability and may change due to weather and market conditions. If a substitution is necessary, we take great care to ensure your order closely matches your original flower choice, even if this means substituting flowers of higher value. While we will make every effort to contact you, there may be rare instances where we are unable to reach you in time. In such cases, we may proceed with substitutions to ensure your order ships on schedule, even without prior verbal confirmation.

Caring for Your Lilies

Lilies are shipped fresh directly from our farms without water tubes. When you first open the box, your flowers might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These flowers have just completed an international journey and need water. Follow the care and preparation steps below to hydrate your lilies and enjoy their full beauty.

Flower Care Steps – From Arrival to Arrangement

Step 1: Unpack and Inspect

  • Cut any straps to remove flowers from the box.

  • Remove all paper and plastic packaging from the bunches.

  • Check your blooms for any visible concerns or damage.

Step 2: Prepare the Containers

  • Use clean, sanitized containers or buckets to avoid bacterial growth.

  • Fill containers with 5–7 inches of lukewarm water and add floral preservative if available.

  • Lilies are sensitive to ethylene gas — store away from fruits and vegetables, especially bananas.

Step 3: Trim and Place in Water

  • Remove any leaves that will sit below the waterline to prevent bacteria buildup.

  • Leave only the foliage you plan to incorporate into your arrangements.

  • Using clean, sharp scissors or floral shears, cut about 1 inch off each stem at a diagonal under warm running water.

  • Immediately place stems into the prepared container.

Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain

  • Allow lilies to hydrate for at least 24 hours in a cool, shaded area before arranging.

  • To encourage faster blooming, drop a few of the removed orange stamens (anthers) into the water — a pro florist tip to trigger blooming naturally.

  • Change water and recut stems every 24 hours to maximize vase life.

  • Keep away from direct sunlight, drafts, or excessive heat.

Step 5: Stamen Removal

  • As each lily bloom opens, gently remove the orange anthers from the center of the flower.

  • If left attached, the anthers will release yellow pollen that can stain skin, blooms, and clothing.

  • If pollen lands on a flower, gently remove it with a pipe cleaner. If it stains fabric, use sticky tape — do not apply water.

Tips from Our Experts

  • If blooms remain tightly closed, try this:

    • Tip #1: Carefully split the very tip of the bloom with gentle pressure, then place lilies in a warm room overnight.

    • Tip #2: For stubborn buds, place plastic bags loosely over the blooms and set them in a warm bathroom while running a steaming shower.
