Wholesale Prices | Delivered Fresh

Yarrow Cottage yellow is a funky fresh filler flower with lovely sweet smell. In a dusty yellow, these blooms will blend wonderfully with virtually any other flower, giving them the perfect offset. Yarrow features an abundance of small blooms that bunch together to form one larger flower. A great thing about yarrow is its versatility; you can combine however many stems you want to make the 'flower' as large or small as you like! Strongly scented with a fresh sweet smell, yarrow is often included in gardens to attract butterflies. Yarrow has an extensive and colorful history surrounding it, including tales of magical properties and references to use by Achilles, Aphrodite and Confucius. Said to promote intelligence, protect against evil and bring love, yarrow is certainly a flower you want at your event! Folklore has it that if you hang the dried bunch of yarrow over your bed that you used in your wedding, you will ensure lasting love. An incredibly fun flower in a great color, you can add yarrow to bouquets of roses or lilies for a textured look. Colorful, scented and promising forever love, you definitely don't want to pass this flower up!

Additional Information

Yarrow can be dried and preserved after use by hanging the stems upside down in a cool, dark space for 1–2 weeks.
Yarrow foliage tends to mature and expire before the blooms, so we recommend stripping the leaves before arranging. For detailed care instructions, please see the Flower Care tab on this page.

Please Note

Your flowers will arrive looking thirsty and sleepy. This is completely NORMAL. Please see our Flower Care tab on this page to learn how to properly care for and handle your flowers.

As flowers are a natural product of Mother Nature and monitor resolutions can differ, the exact color tones of this flower may vary to some degree.

Package contents and prices are based on availability and may change due to weather and market conditions. If a substitution is necessary, we take great care to ensure your order closely matches your original flower choice, even if this means substituting flowers of higher value. While we will make every effort to contact you, there may be rare instances where we are unable to reach you in time. In such cases, we may proceed with substitutions to ensure your order ships on schedule, even without prior verbal confirmation.

Caring for Your Yarrow

Our flowers are shipped fresh directly from our farms to your doorstep. When you first open the box, your flowers might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These flowers have just completed an international journey and need water. Following the important care and preparation steps below will help rehydrate them and ensure they last as long as possible.

Flower Care Steps – From Arrival to Arrangement

Step 1: Unpack and Inspect

  • Unpack and Inspect: Cut any straps to remove flowers from the box, but leave their protective packaging on for the first 4 hours of hydration. As you unpack, check your blooms for any visible concerns.

  • Process Immediately: Begin the steps below immediately upon opening the box to ensure your flowers rehydrate and recover from their journey. Again, don’t worry if they appear sleepy or thirsty—they will perk up beautifully with proper care.

Step 2: Prepare the Containers

  • Choose Clean Buckets or Vases: Ensure your containers are clean and sanitized to remove soap residue, bacteria, and dirt, which can shorten flower life.

  • Fill Containers: Add at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water, and mix in flower food if available.

Step 3: Trim and Place in Water

  • Remove Foliage Below the Waterline: Strip leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent mold or bacteria growth.

  • Cut Stems Correctly: Use clean, sharp floral shears to cut stems diagonally about 1 inch from the bottom. Avoid household scissors, as they pinch the stems and block water absorption.

  • Place and Space: Place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water immediately, ensuring enough space in each container to allow the flowers to bloom properly.

Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain

  • Hydration Time: After the initial 4-hour hydration period, remove protective packaging, strip additional leaves and thorns (if applicable).

  • Re-cut and Space: Give your flowers another fresh cut and place them in your prepared buckets. You may need to spread your stems out into more buckets to give them even more room to bloom. It is important not to overcrowd your buckets. Allow your flowers to continue to hydrate for another 8 hours before beginning the design process.

  • Store in a Cool Place: Keep flowers in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Avoid placing them in a refrigerator, as this can harm flowers.

  • Monitor Water Levels: Flowers drink heavily upon arrival, so check frequently to ensure all stems are always submerged. If the water drops below the stems, refill immediately and recut them before placing them back in the container.

Step 5: Time to Design

  • Ready to Arrange: After completing the hydration and processing steps above, your flowers are now ready for design.

  • Recut and Maintain: As you design, make sure to recut the stems and maintain water levels.

  • Refresh Regularly: Change water daily and recut stems every 24-48 hours to keep flowers fresh.

Tips from Our Experts

  • Always keep flower buds above the bucket or vase rim to prevent your blooms from bruising.

  • Warm environments speed up blooming, while cooler areas slow it down. Adjust storage as needed, but always avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat.

  • Use a floral finishing spray after arranging blooms to help them last longer.

Flower Obsessed Budget Bride Gets Her Dream Day

To anyone else at my wedding, we spent $10,000 on flowers, but I'm sneaky and only spent $1,300 on FiftyFlowers! I made 20 centerpieces (all over 5 feet tall!), 25 small arrangements (for bathrooms, the bar and corners that looked naked), 18 church arrangements, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, and a bridal bouquet. All the flowers took about 8 hours to do and I was able to prepare everything two days prior to the wedding. The flowers were in perfect bloom for the wedding and I couldn't have been happier! A quick tip: I bought 99% of my flowers through Fifty Flowers and the other 1% at a local grocery store. I wanted to have a bridal bouquet with a lot of variety and by buying a dozen local flowers gave it that little something extra! We also spray painted leaves to throw down with the rose pedals to match our fall wedding and give a little more texture to the pedals. We ended up having about 3 dozen flowers extra too!

Disappointed

Ordered for a high school graduation as it was the class flower. Flowers arrived in extremely dry condition. Few flowers were mature enough to open. Only able to use a fourth of the stems as all other stems would not rehydrate from shipping. Should have sent them back.
