White Carnation Flowers

Wholesale Prices | Delivered Fresh

White Carnations are classical blooms, with a very wholesome, very extravagant look to their edges that give off a manifestation of good. The cabbage-shaped head allows the multitude of petals to work their way together, as to show the unique textures in a truly stunning array of curves and ruffles. Being the traditional carnation that symbolizes love in the purest of forms, this flower is a perfect stand-alone in a wedding bouquet or table arrangement. Also wondrous accompanied by Leather Leaf Greenery and Baby's Breath. These are shipped fresh from our farms to your doorstep.

Caring for Your Carnations

Our flowers are shipped fresh directly from our farms to your doorstep. When you first open the box, your flowers might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These flowers have just completed an international journey and need water. Following the important care and preparation steps below will help rehydrate them and ensure they last as long as possible.

Flower Care Steps – From Arrival to Arrangement

Step 1: Unpack and Inspect

  • Unpack and Inspect: Cut any straps to remove flowers from the box, but leave their protective packaging on for the first 4 hours of hydration. As you unpack, check your blooms for any visible concerns.

  • Process Immediately: Begin the steps below immediately upon opening the box to ensure your flowers rehydrate and recover from their journey.

Step 2: Prepare the Containers

  • Choose Clean Buckets or Vases: Ensure your containers are clean and sanitized to remove soap residue, bacteria, and dirt, which can shorten flower life.

  • Fill Containers: Add at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water, and mix in flower food if available.

Step 3: Trim and Place in Water

  • Remove Foliage Below the Waterline: Strip leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent mold or bacteria growth.

  • Cut Stems Correctly: Use clean, sharp floral shears to cut stems diagonally about 1 inch from the bottom. Avoid household scissors, as they pinch the stems and block water absorption.

  • Place and Space: Place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water immediately, ensuring enough space in each container to allow the flowers to bloom properly.

Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain

  • Hydration Time: Allow flowers at least 4 hours to hydrate, though 8 to 12 hours is ideal. After hydrating, remove protective packaging and guard petals (outer layers that may look bruised or brown).

  • Store in a Cool Place: Keep flowers in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Avoid placing them in a refrigerator, as this can harm flowers.

  • Monitor Water Levels: Flowers drink heavily upon arrival, so check frequently to ensure all stems are always submerged. If the water drops below the stems, refill immediately and recut them before placing them back in the container.

Step 5: Time to Design

  • Ready to Arrange: After completing the hydration and processing steps above, your flowers are now ready for design.

  • Recut and Maintain: As you design, make sure to recut the stems and maintain water levels.

  • Refresh Regularly: Change water daily and recut stems every 24-48 hours to keep flowers fresh.

Tips from Our Experts

  • Always keep flower buds above the bucket or vase rim to prevent your blooms from bruising.

  • Warm environments speed up blooming, while cooler areas slow it down. Adjust storage as needed, but always avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat.

  • Use a floral finishing spray after arranging blooms to help them last longer.

Practice Run

I offered to arrange the flowers for my son and future daughter in law's simple, small wedding. I worked for a florist many years ago and felt comfortable with corsages and boutonnieres. A co-worker had designed her entire wedding flowers herself with flowers ordered online. I had seen the pictures and the flowers were lovely. However I had never created a bridal bouquet. So I started with a Whimsical Sample pack of pink Garden Roses from FiftyFlowers to make a practice run. The goal was to finalize a bridesmaid bouquet design to satisfy the bride while assessing the delivery, quality and color for the perfect rose for the actual wedding. Since this was for practice, I placed an online order, selected four different pink roses and set it up for the first available delivery date which was a Friday. I pretended that the wedding was that next Sunday and planned to spend Saturday creating bouquets. Shortly after placing the order, I received a text, email and voice message from James at FiftyFlowers.
He explained that Friday deliveries were not preferred in case there was glitch with the carrier and flowers didn't arrive in time to hydrate and be assembled. He preferred a Thursday delivery and said he could make that happen. And he did. The flowers came exactly when I expected them. I assembled on Friday as if the wedding was on Saturday. The picture I'm sharing is of the Pink O'Hara Garden Rose. The bride said the design was exactly what she wanted for her bridesmaids. I was real impressed with the O'Hara as it was sturdy to work with and lasted for days on my kitchen counter during the heat of summer. Unfortunately the bride wants a lighter softer pink rose. No problem though as FiftyFlowers has the largest selection of pink garden roses and we have found one for the "real" wedding. I learned a lot from James in customer service and will not hesitate to ask questions and rely on the answers I receive. He suggested that I order way ahead to guarantee the particular rose we desire.
I have also enjoyed reading the reviews of the many other bridal parties that have shared their pictures and stories as well as helpful tips in some cases. I continue to be amazed at their creativity. What fun!
