Caring for Your Boutonnieres & Corsages – From Arrival to Wear
Step 1: Unpack and Inspect
Bring flowers indoors immediately upon delivery.
Cut and remove outer straps, open the box, and inspect contents.
Arrangements are secured to an inner tray. Carefully remove tray and discard outer box.
Remove smaller items (like boutonnieres) first, handling everything gently.
Step 2: Hydrate
Boutonnieres & Corsages
Remove each arrangement and its water tube together. Hold the base of the tube in one hand and the upper lip in the other, then gently slide out of the tray.
Do not pull directly on the flowers.
Carefully peel back the soft plastic top without removing the flowers.
Take off the cotton wrap, fill the tube with fresh water mixed with flower food, and reseal.
Place all boutonnieres in the refrigerator, away from fruits and vegetables, which emit ethylene gas that can damage flowers.
Keep refrigerator temperature above 40°F to prevent freezing.
Bouquets (Bridal & Bridesmaid)
Fill clean vases or containers with 3–4 inches of cool water and mix in flower food.
Remove each bouquet by unfastening the Velcro strap securing it to the tray.
Discard wrapping, including sponge and plastic sleeve.
Use clean, sharp floral shears to give bouquets a fresh cut.
Place each bouquet in a vase, making sure the water level stays below the ribbon or decorative wrapping to prevent staining or damage.
Refill water daily as needed.
Do not refrigerate bouquets. Store in a cool, dry location.
