Snapdragon Mauve Flower

Wholesale Prices | Delivered Fresh

Snapdragon Mauve Flower is a lovely flower that features long leafy stems covered in bunched blooms. A fresh lavender mauve color, snapdragon flowers are known their wispy jaw-like upper and lower petals that appear to make a snout; when gently squeezed, this 'dragons' jaw snaps open, hence the name. Stems of this wonderfully flower will add texture and color to any baby shower, ladies luncheon or garden wedding. Believed to have originated as wildflowers in Spain and Italy, the snapdragon symbolizes graciousness and strength. An irresistible lavender mauve, these snapdragons will look incredible when mixed with oriental lilies, gerbera daisies and spider mums or simply bunched on their own. Incredibly sweet and decidedly feminine, these snaps are simply irresistible.

Caring for Your Snapdragons

Our flowers are shipped fresh directly from our farms to your doorstep. When you first open the box, your flowers might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These flowers have just completed an international journey and need water. Following the important care and preparation steps below will help rehydrate them and ensure they last as long as possible.

Flower Care Steps – From Arrival to Arrangement

Step 1: Unpack and Inspect

  • Unpack and Inspect: Cut any straps to remove flowers from the box, but leave their protective packaging on for the first 4 hours of hydration. As you unpack, check your blooms for any visible concerns.

  • Process Immediately: Begin the steps below immediately upon opening the box to ensure your flowers rehydrate and recover from their journey. Again, don’t worry if they appear sleepy or thirsty—they will perk up beautifully with proper care.

Step 2: Prepare the Containers

  • Choose Clean Buckets or Vases: Ensure your containers are clean and sanitized to remove soap residue, bacteria, and dirt, which can shorten flower life.

  • Fill Containers: Add at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water, and mix in flower food if available.

Step 3: Trim and Place in Water

  • Remove Foliage Below the Waterline: Strip leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent mold or bacteria growth.

  • Cut Stems Correctly: Use clean, sharp floral shears to cut stems diagonally about 1 inch from the bottom. Avoid household scissors, as they pinch the stems and block water absorption.

  • Place and Space: Place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water immediately, ensuring enough space in each container to allow the flowers to bloom properly.

Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain

  • Hydration Time: After the initial 4-hour hydration period, remove protective packaging, strip additional leaves and thorns (if applicable).

  • Re-cut and Space: Give your flowers another fresh cut and place them in your prepared buckets. You may need to spread your stems out into more buckets to give them even more room to bloom. It is important not to overcrowd your buckets. Allow your flowers to continue to hydrate for another 8 hours before beginning the design process.

  • Store in a Cool Place: Keep flowers in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Avoid placing them in a refrigerator, as this can harm flowers.

  • Monitor Water Levels: Flowers drink heavily upon arrival, so check frequently to ensure all stems are always submerged. If the water drops below the stems, refill immediately and recut them before placing them back in the container.

Step 5: Time to Design

  • Ready to Arrange: After completing the hydration and processing steps above, your flowers are now ready for design.

  • Recut and Maintain: As you design, make sure to recut the stems and maintain water levels.

  • Refresh Regularly: Change water daily and recut stems every 24-48 hours to keep flowers fresh.

Special Notes for Snapdragon

  • If your snapdragons arrived curled or bent, this is normal. Snapdragons are phototropic, meaning they follow the light. During hydration, place a lamp directly above the flowers (at least 6 feet away) to encourage stems to straighten.

Tips from Our Experts

  • Always keep flower buds above the bucket or vase rim to prevent your blooms from bruising.

  • Warm environments speed up blooming, while cooler areas slow it down. Adjust storage as needed, but always avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat.

  • Use a floral finishing spray after arranging blooms to help them last longer.

Sooo gorgeous! Enjoyed for days after as well...a lovely purple.

Fall Fabulous!

I ordered all these flowers (over 600 flower blossoms) 3 days prior to event as directed. They came well packaged in 3 boxes and shipped via FedEx. The delivery was about 4 hours late due to a rain storm....but I had the next 3 weeks off so no rush to go anywhere.

I followed the care instructions to a "T". The purple Lisianthus flowers had some unopened buds broken off during delivery....only thing that I wasn't satisfied about.
During the grooms dinner, I had all my bridesmaids create their own bouquet. They could choose any flowers and as many as they wanted. For not being "professionals" I think they turned out very well & we had a lot of fun making them.

I had daisies substituted in the combo pack as I already ordered Spider mums. The daisies came with a green supportive tube around the stem, we left these on up until pics. After a few hours the blossom of the daisy became too heavy for the weak stem and started to droop. I would advise to leave the tube in place if able & just cover with ribbon or put in the center of the bouquet so you cant see the tube.

We made 32...yes, 32 centerpieces! One for each table, the guests could not believe I had REAL flowers on every single table! You can see from the pick, the netting remains on the flowers until reception time.

Fantastic product, very happy and they cost a fraction of what a florist would have charged.
