Radiant Fall Wedding

Imagine a radiant fall wedding that captures the essence of Wes Anderson's films. Set in a stunning courtyard adorned with immersive vines and twinkle lights, this celebration is a brilliant blend of autumnal beauty and cinematic charm. The decor features lighter hues with vibrant pops of color, adventure postcards, and hanging paper garlands crafted from old book pages. The ceremony space is highlighted by a triangle arch of red hanging Amaranthus and baby's breath, creating a striking backdrop against the overcast sky.

The bride's look is completed with a sunflower and eucalyptus flower crown, perfectly complementing her veil's floral embroidery. Bouquets of sunflowers, marigolds, tea roses, and eucalyptus bring warm autumn hues, while the groomsmen's mini sunflower boutonnieres create a cohesive touch. Indoors, the reception space bursts with eucalyptus, baby's breath, and seasonal centerpieces, enhanced by twinkle lights that add to the romantic, whimsical ambiance. Even the three-tiered scrape cake carries the floral theme, making this bespoke celebration a truly magical day to remember.

In mid-October of 2023, we finally got to tie the knot in front of all our family and friends. The theme of our wedding was whimsical Wes Anderson with a big emphasis on fall. Our favorite Wes movies include, Moonrise Kingdom, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Rushmore - so, we drew a lot of our decorating ideas and main color palette from those films. Think lighter hues throughout with contrasting color pops, adventure postcards adorning the tables, and hanging paper garlands made of old book pages. Our ceremony was held in an outdoor courtyard strung with colorful vines and twinkle lights. We were able to add accentuating florals at the head of the altar, utilizing red hanging Amaranthus and baby's breath garlands that were shaped into a triangle arch. Even though the day turned out overcast, the colors in the courtyard were bright and stood out against the gray of the skies above. As the bride, I donned a beautiful premade flower crown, complete with sunflowers (my favorite) and eucalyptus leaves that made the cascading floral embroidery on my veil tie into my overall look just that much more. All of the bouquets carried included a mix of sunflowers, marigolds, tea roses, and eucalyptus - the perfect autumnal mix to carry down the aisle and photograph. And the groom and each of our groomsmen got to wear their own mini sunflowers on their lapels, giving the wedding party a cohesive look. We had bursts of eucalyptus, baby's breath, and corresponding centerpieces in the reception space to bring the beautiful colors of fall that were outside to the indoor space. Twinkle lights interspersed throughout the florals helped to set off the romantic and whimsical feel that we were going for. And cake flowers were added to all three tiers of our scrape cake to present a continuous theme across the decor. Being able to celebrate our marriage with our closest family and friends in a space that we got to totally make our own was truly incredible. It was the most magical day of my life and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Our flowers are shipped directly from our farms to your doorstep. Before shipping your flowers, we prepare them for their journey with proper hydration methods. If your flowers appear sleepy and thirsty after their journey it is absolutely NORMALFollow these simple steps to ensure your flowers have the proper care.

  1. When your boxes arrive, it is important that you get your flowers in water as quickly as possible. Open your boxes and remove any protective packaging, such as foam or paper.
  2. Inspect your flowers.*
  3. Gather buckets or containers to hold the flowers. Ensure your buckets or containers are very clean. We recommend rinsing them with warm water.
  4. Fill the containers with at least 4 inches of fresh, cold water. If flower food is available, follow the package directions for adding it to the water.
  5. Cut any straps and remove flowers from the box. Remove any rubber bands or plastic sleeves securing flower bunches together.
  6. Remove any foliage that would fall below the waterline. Leaves below the waterline may cause bacteria to form, shortening the life of your flowers.
  7. Using sharp flower shears or scissors, cut stems diagonally under cool, running water. Cut about an inch off of each stem.
  8. Immediately after cutting the stem, place the flower in the prepared water.
  9. Ensure that you have sufficient room in each bucket for the amount of stems you will be storing. Do not overcrowd your containers. Overcrowding may damage stems and blooms and effect the blooming process.
  10. Allow flowers at least 4 hours to hydrate, flowers may take up to 12 hours to properly hydrate. Periodically check the water levels, flowers drink a lot of water when they first arrive and the water may need to be refilled.
  11. Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts or extreme temperatures. Flowers should be stored in a cool, dry area until ready to use.
  12. Change water every 24 hours to keep flowers fresh.
