Your bouquet is shipped directly from our farms, prepared and hydrated for its journey to your doorstep. If your flowers appear slightly wilted or “sleepy” upon arrival, this is normal, and they will revive with proper care.

Unpacking and Initial Inspection: Carefully open your box, inspect the flowers, and remove them by cutting any securing straps. Take a moment to enjoy the fresh scent before moving on. If you notice any concerns, leave the flowers in the box and contact us immediately at 1-877-50-ROSES (507-6737) for assistance.

Preparing the Vase: Fill a clean vase with at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water and add flower food if available. If your shipment did not include flower food, it can be purchased at most florists or grocery store floral departments. Proper nourishment helps prevent bacteria growth and keeps your flowers vibrant.

Removing Foliage and Wrappings: Remove any leaves or foliage that would fall below the waterline, as submerged foliage can cause mold and bacteria, which may lead to premature wilting. Be sure to also remove any rubber bands and plastic wrappings, but keep the protective netting on the flowers for the first 6-8 hours to support hydration.

Trimming the Stems: Using sharp scissors or a knife, cut each stem diagonally, about an inch from the bottom. This angled cut allows better water absorption and prevents the stem ends from sitting flat in the vase, which can block water flow. Immediately place the freshly cut stems in the prepared vase.

Hydration Period: Allow the flowers at least 4 hours to hydrate, though they may need up to 8-12 hours to fully revive. Keep the vase in a location away from direct sunlight, drafts, or excessive heat.

Ongoing Care: Every 24 hours, change the water and re-cut the stems to maintain freshness. Flowers often drink a large amount of water upon arrival, so ensure they have sufficient water and continue to check daily.
