Caring for Your Centerpieces
Our flowers are shipped fresh directly from our farms to your doorstep. When you first open the box, your flowers might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These flowers have just completed an international journey and need water. Following the important care and preparation steps below will help rehydrate them and ensure they last as long as possible.
Flower Care Steps – From Arrival to Arrangement
Step 1: Unpack and Inspect
Unpack and Inspect: Cut any straps to remove flowers from the box, but leave their protective packaging on for the first 4 hours of hydration. As you unpack, check your blooms for any visible concerns.
Process Immediately: Begin the steps below immediately upon opening the box to ensure your flowers rehydrate and recover from their journey. Again, don’t worry if they appear sleepy or thirsty—they will perk up beautifully with proper care.
Step 2: Prepare the Containers
Choose Clean Buckets or Vases: Ensure your containers are clean and sanitized to remove soap residue, bacteria, and dirt, which can shorten flower life.
Fill Containers: Add at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water, and mix in flower food if available.
Step 3: Trim and Place in Water
Remove Foliage Below the Waterline: Strip leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent mold or bacteria growth.
Cut Stems Correctly: Use clean, sharp floral shears to cut stems diagonally about 1 inch from the bottom. Avoid household scissors, as they pinch the stems and block water absorption.
Place and Space: Place the freshly cut centerpiece into the prepared water immediately. If placing more than one centerpiece in a bucket, make sure there is enough space in each container to allow the flowers to bloom properly.
Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain
Hydration Time: After the initial 4-hour hydration period, remove protective packaging, strip additional leaves and thorns (if applicable).
Re-cut: Give your centerpiece another fresh cut and place it in your prepared container/bucket. Allow your flowers to continue to hydrate for another 8 hours before beginning the design process (see below).
Store in a Cool Place: Keep flowers in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Avoid placing them in a refrigerator, as this can harm flowers.
Monitor Water Levels: Flowers drink heavily upon arrival, so check frequently to ensure all stems are always submerged. If the water drops below the stems, refill immediately and recut them before placing them back in the container.
Step 5: Time to Design
Ready to Arrange: After completing the hydration and processing steps above, your centerpiece is now ready for you to add additional flowers (if desired).
Recut and Maintain: After your centerpiece is complete, make sure to recut the stems before placing in your container and maintain the water level.
Refresh Regularly: Change water daily and recut stems every 24-48 hours to keep flowers fresh.

Warm environments speed up blooming, while cooler areas slow it down. Adjust storage as needed, but always avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat.
Use a floral finishing spray after arranging blooms to help them last longer.
Precautions
Thorns: Flowers with thorns require extra care. Wear gloves when handling them, and consider using a thorn stripping tool for added ease and safety.
Tinted Flowers: If your centerpiece contains tinted flowers, they may release color into the water, which is perfectly normal. To keep the water clear and clean, be sure to change it regularly. Tinted water can also stain surfaces, so be cautious. The dye may transfer to skin or clothing, so we recommend wearing gloves while handling. For added protection, especially with clothing like a white wedding dress, wrap the stems to prevent dye from transferring.

I decided I wanted to add additional flowers to my wedding reception but didn't want to pay my florist's price for them. This is how I found fifty flowers. My flowers were delayed due to the winter storm with UPS but after two extra days of shipping I received my flowers 30 minutes before I had to leave for my wedding weekend. I felt as though the stars had aligned. I order 4 large centers and 8 mini centerpieces. I bought my own bubble vases and used some of the mini centerpieces to fluff up the large centerpieces. At first the flowers did look a bit sad, to be expected after their long journey. I cut them and put them in water while I went to my rehearsal dinner and was pleasantly surprised when I returned to my hotel room. I got to arranging and honestly think the end result was fantastic.

The flowers were beautiful. We received them three days before our event. They were a little wilted by the time our event happened. The pink flowers started to turn brown.

I was really excited to try your floral arrangements for an upcoming event so I ordered a large arrangement to test. My ordered was supposed to arrive by 3pm but didn’t arrive until almost 9pm. I quickly opened the box which was nicely packaged, the arrangement was a bit smaller than expected but the floral colors were beautiful. The flowers upon arrival were very droopy so I followed the instructions and put them in fresh water, I left them overnight. The roses and ranunculus perked up beautifully the next day however the others never revived. Sadly this arrangement overall was disappointing the large arrangement was smaller than expected and the flowers did not survive the long trip.
