Coyote created new eyes out of the buttercup flowers at his feet, which became the first Ranunculus flowers.

Our flowers are shipped directly from our farms to your doorstep. Before shipping your flowers, we prepare them for their journey with proper hydration methods. If your flowers appear sleepy and thirsty after their journey it is absolutely NORMAL. Follow these simple steps to ensure your flowers have the proper care.

  1. When your boxes arrive, it is important that you get your flowers in water as quickly as possible. Open your boxes and remove any protective packaging, such as foam or paper.
  2. Inspect your flowers.*
  3. Gather buckets or containers to hold the flowers. Ensure your buckets or containers are very clean. We recommend rinsing them with warm water.
  4. Fill the containers with at least 4 inches of fresh, cold water. If flower food is available, follow the package directions for adding it to the water.
  5. Cut any straps and remove flowers from the box. Remove any rubber bands or plastic sleeves securing flower bunches together. 
  6. Remove any foliage that would fall below the waterline. Leaves below the waterline may cause bacteria to form, shortening the life of your flowers. 
  7. Using sharp flower shears or scissors, cut stems diagonally under cool, running water. Cut about an inch off of each stem.
  8. Immediately after cutting the stem, place the flower in the prepared water. 
  9. Ensure that you have sufficient room in each bucket for the amount of stems you will be storing. Do not overcrowd your containers. Overcrowding may damage stems and blooms and effect the blooming process. 
  10. Allow flowers at least 4 hours to hydrate, flowers may take up to 12 hours to properly hydrate. Periodically check the water levels, flowers drink a lot of water when they first arrive and the water may need to be refilled.
  11. Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts or extreme temperatures. Flowers should be stored in a cool, dry area until ready to use.
  12. Change water every 24 hours to keep flowers fresh.

Was a bit disappointed due to several factors

So I wasn’t home when the box was delivered at our house, so my mom was the one who got them and unboxed them. She said there was only one broken stem in the whole bunch. I ordered her the 40 Ranunculus Blooms. So they ended up being purple and orange, I read that the colors may vary, but the photos for the listing show 4-5 different colors in the bunch. So my mom put the 6 stems that were already completely open, and those were gone by in 2 days. The other ones, I stripped all the leaves off, and cut them under cold running water at and angle and put them into lukewarm water, changing the water and re-cutting a small amount of the stem, repeating the process. The flowers were definitely beautiful, the bunch of 40 looked so much smaller than I expected; if I ordered again, I would definitely choose the larger size.

So what I didn’t like was that they were only 2 colors, and were not like the colors shown at all. The second was that the additional closed blooms on each stem would just end up drooping over and dying so I would cut the dead ones off every day. Had that not happened, we would have had SO many more blooms. My dad has 6 retail greenhouses which I spent most of my life working at, so I know how to care for fresh flowers (we do cut your own in the summer) If it weren’t for the extra blooms on the stems dying and the blooms dropping over once they bloomed which would cause the 2 inches of stem below to break, which I would have to cut off.

If not for the colors and the additional blooms on the stems dying, I would definitely order again. After I ordered, a customer service rep called and then texted recommending a different ship fate due to time coming straight from the growers. The customer service is A++ (most important thing to me when buying from a company) So I won’t say I would write off ordering from FiftyFlowers in the future, I think I would, I would just communicate with them prior to ordering to get an idea of the current colors that would be included since this changes due to them being farm fresh and the date makes a huge difference.

I would recommend ordering at least a month in advance in order to get an available ship date.
