El Aleli Purple Stock Flower

Wholesale Prices | Delivered Fresh

El Aleli Purple Flower embodies the deep rich purple many floral designers crave. With a full cluster of ruffled flowers on a sturdy stalk, this bloom is easy to care for, and create chic arrangements. Stock in Spanish is called "El Aleli" and its fresh fragrance is as beautiful as the name. Native to the Mediterranean, stock is indicative of a happy life and lasting bonds of affection; gifting a bouquet of these blooms says, "You will always be beautiful to me." Also known as gillyflower, sprays of this opulent flower will look stunning paired with iris, larkspur and lisianthus or simply arranged on their own. Our Purple Aleli average 6-10 blooms per stem and is shipped with its foliage.

Caring for Your Stock Flowers

Our flowers are shipped fresh directly from our farms to your doorstep. When you first open the box, your flowers might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These flowers have just completed an international journey and need water. Following the important care and preparation steps below will help rehydrate them and ensure they last as long as possible.

Flower Care Steps – From Arrival to Arrangement

Step 1: Unpack and Inspect

  • Unpack and Inspect: Cut any straps to remove flowers from the box, but leave their protective packaging on for the first 4 hours of hydration. As you unpack, check your blooms for any visible concerns.

  • Process Immediately: Begin the steps below immediately upon opening the box to ensure your flowers rehydrate and recover from their journey. Again, don’t worry if they appear sleepy or thirsty—they will perk up beautifully with proper care.

Step 2: Prepare the Containers

  • Choose Clean Buckets or Vases: Ensure your containers are clean and sanitized to remove soap residue, bacteria, and dirt, which can shorten flower life.

  • Fill Containers: Add at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water, and mix in flower food if available.

Step 3: Trim and Place in Water

  • Remove Foliage Below the Waterline: Strip leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent mold or bacteria growth.

  • Cut Stems Correctly: Use clean, sharp floral shears to cut stems diagonally about 1 inch from the bottom. Avoid household scissors, as they pinch the stems and block water absorption.

  • Place and Space: Place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water immediately, ensuring enough space in each container to allow the flowers to bloom properly.

Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain

  • Hydration Time: After the initial 4-hour hydration period, remove protective packaging, strip additional leaves and thorns (if applicable).

  • Re-cut and Space: Give your flowers another fresh cut and place them in your prepared buckets. You may need to spread your stems out into more buckets to give them even more room to bloom. It is important not to overcrowd your buckets. Allow your flowers to continue to hydrate for another 8 hours before beginning the design process.

  • Store in a Cool Place: Keep flowers in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Avoid placing them in a refrigerator, as this can harm flowers.

  • Monitor Water Levels: Flowers drink heavily upon arrival, so check frequently to ensure all stems are always submerged. If the water drops below the stems, refill immediately and recut them before placing them back in the container.

Step 5: Time to Design

  • Ready to Arrange: After completing the hydration and processing steps above, your flowers are now ready for design.

  • Recut and Maintain: As you design, make sure to recut the stems and maintain water levels.

  • Refresh Regularly: Change water daily and recut stems every 24-48 hours to keep flowers fresh.

Special Notes for Stock Flowers

  • Stock Flowers are very susceptible to mildew - be sure to change the water frequently.

  • It is very important not to overcrowd Stock Flowers in your bucket. Make sure they have enough space!

Tips from Our Experts

  • Always keep flower buds above the bucket or vase rim to prevent your blooms from bruising.

  • Warm environments speed up blooming, while cooler areas slow it down. Adjust storage as needed, but always avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat.

  • Use a floral finishing spray after arranging blooms to help them last longer.

Happy DIY Bride!

I am a DIY bride trying to save as much money as possible, wherever possible. I came across Fifty Flowers while doing research on how to make my own bouquets and centerpieces. I decided to order 25 roses and 20 petite calla lilies to do a test run for my wedding in October. My wedding colors are plum and burgundy and the flowers I picked were perfect! Since my wedding is on a Friday, I made sure to have the flowers delivered on a Wednesday. The flowers arrived on time, in great condition and the service was great. As soon as I received them, I immediately cut an inch off of the stems and placed them in water. Later that evening, I experimented with putting 1 bouquet and 1 centerpiece together. They came out great! The flowers lasted for almost 4 days with little to no care. I mostly changed the water every other day. I stored them at room temperature just to see how they'd hold up. I am so relieved that they looked great and I can't wait to use them on my wedding day! Thanks Fifty Flowers!

These were a beautiful flower but, they seemed really stressed when we got them. We only used a few in my bouquet and toss bouquet because of it. These don't hold up very well in the heat, so be cautious. FiftyFlowers recommend that I receive these two days prior, I would order so they arrive one day prior. We would've been able to use more if we had received them the day before the wedding.

Rehearsal Dinner

My family hosted a beautiful rehearsal dinner for my brother before his wedding. The flowers were perfect and arrived in great condition. We used lots of whites, creams, and blush with greenery. The peonies were perfect condition and we're so glad we went with Fifty Flowers for this party! I would definitely recommend them and use them again.
