Cattleya Lavender Orchids are named for the English horticulturist who originally used the orchids leathery leaves to help pack his collection of mosses shipped from South America in the early 1800’s! Truly the queen of the orchids, Cattleya has an amazingly showy bloom reaching up to 5 inches across. The shape of this bloom is always unique with 2 fringed petals and a darker color lip featuring individual markings. For a tropical inspired look you can pair these with pink roses, Vanda orchids and mini calla lilies in a monochromatic theme.

Orchids are shipped directly from our farms. Before shipping your flowers, we prepare them for shipment with proper hydration methods. If your flowers appear sleepy and thirsty after their journey, it is absolutely NORMAL. Just follow these simple steps and the flowers will bloom delightfully. 

  1. Open you box of flowers and inspect. *
  2. Each bloom has an individual water tube, refill and replace the water tubes until you are ready to arrange your flowers.
  3. After inspecting all water tubes, you can continue to store the orchids in the box they arrive in until you are ready to display them.
  4. Storage at room temperature above 50 degrees is ideal for these orchids. Anything cooler than this could potential be harmful and may damage the flowers.
  5. These flowers are sensitive to ethylene gas emitted by fresh fruits and vegetables, so be sure to remove all fruits and veggies from the area you are keeping your orchids before storage!
