If a substitution is necessary, we take great care to ensure your order closely matches your original flower choice, even if this means substituting flowers of higher value. Caring for Your Greenery

Greenery is shipped fresh directly from our farms to your doorstep. When you first open the box, your greens might appear "sleepy" or "thirsty," which is completely normal. These have just completed an international journey and need water. Following the important care and preparation steps below will help rehydrate them and ensure they last as long as possible.

Greenery Care Steps – From Arrival to Use

Step 1: Unpack and Inspect

  • Unpack Promptly: Cut any straps to remove greenery from the box. As you unpack, check your blooms for any visible concerns.

  • Process Immediately: Begin the steps below immediately upon opening the box to ensure your flowers rehydrate and recover from their journey. Again, don’t worry if they appear sleepy or thirsty—they will perk up beautifully with proper care.

Step 2: Prepare the Containers

  • Choose Clean Buckets or Vases: Ensure your containers are clean and sanitized to remove soap residue, bacteria, and dirt, which can shorten flower life.

  • Fill Containers: Add at least 4 inches of cool, fresh water, and mix in flower food if available.

Step 3: Trim and Place in Water

  • Remove Packaging: Take off any rubber bands or plastic sleeves protecting the greens.

  • Remove Foliage Below the Waterline: Strip leaves that will fall below the waterline to prevent mold or bacteria growth.

  • Trim the Stems: Use clean, sharp floral shears to cut stems diagonally about 1 inch from the bottom. Avoid household scissors, as they pinch the stems and block water absorption.

  • Place Immediately: Place the freshly cut stems into the prepared water immediately, ensuring enough space in each container to allow the greenery to hydrate properly.

Step 4: Hydrate and Maintain

  • Hydration Time: Allow your greenery to hydrate for a minimum of 4 hours, although 8 hours is ideal.

  • Storage: Store your hydrated greenery in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat. Avoid placing in a refrigerator.

  • Monitor Water Levels: Greenery drinks heavily upon arrival, so check frequently to ensure all stems are always submerged. If the water drops below the stems, refill immediately and recut them before placing them back in the container.

Step 5: Time to Design

  • Ready to Arrange: After completing the hydration and processing steps above, your greenery is ready for design.

  • Recut and Maintain: As you design, make sure to recut the stems and maintain water levels.

  • Refresh Regularly: Change water daily and recut stems every 24-48 hours to keep greenery fresh.

Delivery: All of the above
Flower Care: Yes, Completely!
Additional Information: Strongly recommend, although if you plan to do your own flowers, make sure that you leave yourself time and plan for the transportation of the vases and flowers to the event--easy to miss details involved with this endeavor
Highly Recommend, absolutely beautiful

Working with FF was an amazing experience. The customer service is top notch. Someone personally reached out to me by both text and email when I made an adjustment to my order, to assure that we were on the same page and that my order would come in correctly. Out of the several bunches that I ordered (I ordered quite a few, probably 20 bunches,) only one bunch came in wilted and could not be revived. I ordered the flowers to arrive on a Wednesday for a Saturday event, and they were all perfect for Saturday. A strong suggestion that worked great for us: We had 140 vases and made 140 bouquets, secured each with a rubber band and soaked them (and transported) in water filled buckets. Plopped them in the vases on the day of the event--easy and simple for transport.

Hi Andrea!

We're thrilled you had such a wonderful experience! Our communication style is designed to make you feel confident while ordering flowers online and to take the stress out of the DIY flower process. Our flowers are fresher, and most often of better quality than any flower you could purchase at your local florist. However, due to shipping constraints, 1-2 flowers per bunch may arrive bruised or damaged but we pack extra stems sometimes to make up for it!

What a great recommendation for transporting the flowers, that way they can hydrate and look gorgeous for your event. Thank you for choosing us and recommending us!

We hope you keep us in mind for any event in the future.

Success Wedding in a week

OMG what I have been through these past 3 weeks. My fiance propsed in November and we were going to get married in May. However, December 20th he was notified that he was to be deployed January 13th. We had to get married before he left, and I could not have done it without fiftyflowers. they saved my wedding. As soon as we decided to get married, I started calling florists and nobody was available on such short notice except for one that quoted an outrageous price. I panicked until I found fiftyflowers. The Customer Service Representatives were amazing and helped me pull it together. I never dreamed of doing my own flowers and actually was intimidated at the idea. However, with their guidance and fabulous flowers my wedding turned out even better than what I would of ever dreamt. I don't have my pictures except for this one that my mom took, but I just wanted to share my experience with all of you soon to be brides ~ thumbs up to fiftyflowers! Thank you!

May WIlt Sooner than other Greenery

I LOVE this beautiful greenery! My only negative is that it wilts easily if bent or worked too tightly into a bouquet...
