Our flowers are shipped directly from our farms to your doorstep. Before shipping your flowers, we prepare them for their journey with proper hydration methods. If your flowers appear sleepy and thirsty after their journey it is absolutely NORMAL. Follow these simple steps to ensure your flowers have the proper care.

  1. When your boxes arrive, it is important that you get your flowers in water as quickly as possible. Open your boxes and remove any protective packaging, such as foam or paper.
  2. Inspect your flowers.*
  3. Gather buckets or containers to hold the flowers. Ensure your buckets or containers are very clean. We recommend rinsing them with warm water.
  4. Fill the containers with at least 4 inches of fresh, cold water. If flower food is available, follow the package directions for adding it to the water.
  5. Cut any straps and remove flowers from the box. Remove any rubber bands or plastic sleeves securing flower bunches together.
  6. Remove any foliage that would fall below the waterline. Leaves below the waterline may cause bacteria to form, shortening the life of your flowers.
  7. Using sharp flower shears or scissors, cut stems diagonally under cool, running water. Cut about an inch off of each stem.
  8. Immediately after cutting the stem, place the flower in the prepared water.
  9. Ensure that you have sufficient room in each bucket for the amount of stems you will be storing. Do not overcrowd your containers. Overcrowding may damage stems and blooms and effect the blooming process.
  10. Allow flowers at least 4 hours to hydrate, flowers may take up to 12 hours to properly hydrate. Periodically check the water levels, flowers drink a lot of water when they first arrive and the water may need to be refilled.
  11. Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts or extreme temperatures. Flowers should be stored in a cool, dry area until ready to use.
  12. Change water every 24 hours to keep flowers fresh.

*If upon first inspection, you foresee a problem with your flowers, do not proceed processing your order. Leave the flowers intact in the box and call us immediately at 1-877-50 ROSES (507-6737)

Romantic Perfection

I had envisioned a whimsical and romantic feel for my big day. I met with a few florist and was just not happy with not knowing exactly what flowers I was going to get on my big day. I did a trial run with 50 flowers for my bridal shower and found the roses to be Beautiful, easy to care for and the customer service to be fantastic. When my big day arrived I was ready to care for all the flowers. Again customer service was great with questions I had. All of the flowers opened up beautifully! My bridesmaids, my mom and I put all the flowers together the day before the wedding. My one friend Jackie took the lead on doing all the bouquets. My two friends Ashley and Jen put together two huge beautiful church displays and the rest of us attacked the rest of the decorating of the venue. I just did a greenery runner of eucalyptus down our tables. We put other small vases of flowers around the church and venue to decorate. We were able to make a couple other large displays on top of our two huge church displays. Everything turned out perfect!! Could not have been happier with the decision to do our own flowers. They came out so good, the photographer said it was the best DIY flowers he had ever seen and couldn't believe that we had done them ourselves Thank you Fifty Flowers!
