Most common DIY challenges and solutions
Underestimating time for setup and cleanup?
Plan ahead. Terri encourages brides to build a team and have a clear breakdown strategy so your florals go home—not in the dumpster.
Want to avoid surprise flower drama?
Dahlias can be moody. She recommends budgeting for extras or using lookalike mums for reliability.
Need structure without foam?
Terri’s go-to is chicken wire in opaque vessels. She also reuses flower boxes—cutting X’s in the top to cradle vases for transport.
Feeling overwhelmed by floral prep?
Terri will walk you through proper processing, hydration, and organizing blooms by type—ensuring your flowers are open, happy, and design-ready.

Fun fact
Terri became a florist by accident. Expecting to sweep a studio floor, she was asked to mimic a giant floral arrangement for the church altar—and discovered she loved it. From that fearless start, she’s built a vibrant career with heartfelt florals at its core.
Most unique wedding experience
For her own wedding, Terri flipped the script. She greeted guests at a pre-ceremony cocktail hour in a cocktail dress, then changed into her gown for a surprise “in-the-round” ceremony. With custom installations, handmade décor, and help from loved ones, she created a deeply personal celebration. Ten years later, guests still talk about how unique it was. Her advice? Break the rules—it’s your day.
