The staff was willing to change the place of delivery at the last moment and everything arrived safe and sound. We set to work opening the boxes, cutting stems and placing them in bucket of water. The next day we had several "experts" and a lot of willing hands and began working on corsages, bouquets, boutonnieres and small bouquets that were placed in painted paper mache cones that were hung from chairs on the ends of the rows. Everyone, especially the bride, was pleased with the appearance of the flowers after they had a chance to soak up water and "stretch." Ordering flowers and making up what we needed was not only a savings on flowers for the event, but provided a way to gather different guests together who wanted to help and who could get to know each other as they worked on the flowers. I wish I could say I planned that part of it.
