I have always enjoyed playing with flowers and was delighted (and pleasantly surprised!) when my daughter, Kristen, asked me to do her wedding flowers. She and her fiancé, Steve, wanted a beachfront ceremony and wanted a simple but elegant rustic theme that interfaced seamlessly with the beach elements. We started our research and were blown away by the variety and value offered by FiftyFlowers. Little did we know the best was yet to come! From the very start someone was in contact regarding our flower choices with advice, suggestions and updates. What could have been a daunting task was easy and pleasurable with someone always available to help in any way they could. Since we had a narrow inflexible time frame between flower delivery and wedding date it was suggested that we separate the lilies to give them some sunlight to hasten blooming. This worked like a charm and within 36 hours they were in different stages of opening with some already at full mast. The night before the wedding was so much fun as family members pitched in and we opened some champagne and got busy making wedding magic. The purple passion bouquets featured some pink snapdragons which warmed up the predominantly cool palette of purples and greens. I loved that color punch and picked up some additional pink flowers the next day from the beach supermarket to add to the mix. If the sayings about rain on your wedding day are true then my daughter and her husband will have a long and happy life together! Wedding day arrived with forecasts of rain. We were all systems ago to set up for our beachfront event when thunderstorms rolled in one hour prior to wedding time. Time to improvise! Luckily we had a Plan B and we hastily moved everything indoors. The decorated arbor was set up at the front of the banquet hall to frame the ceremony. Originally we were planning to flank the arbor by suspending 2 flower-filled bird cages on each side from shepherd hooks, but they found their way to a different vantage point in the quick move to indoors! It was so much fun helping to create a beautiful magical backdrop for my daughter's wedding. Thank you to FiftyFlowers for being such an integral part of making Kristen's dreams a reality! The hotel concierge and the various vendors all commented that they had never seen such beautiful flowers which was quite extraordinary since flowers are such a mainstay in their daily routine. All in all, everything was perfect....even the rain!
