Pacific Northwest Woodsy Wedding

My husband, Sam, and I got married in the woods just outside Salem, OR. I envisioned flowers that included a lot of greenery, ivory and a few pops of color. As someone who makes her own jam and hummus and loves the creative process, I was determined to create my own flower arrangements for our wedding. I started following some of my favorite local florists on Instagram and began to search for how-to guides and resources. After reading through reviews on various online flower companies, FiftyFlowers stood out to me, and to and ultimately exceeded my expectations! At first I was overwhelmed by the process. FiftyFlowers, however, provided excellent resources on bouquet construction, care tips, and inspiration. I was drawn to movement, more natural looking bouquets, and items that reflected the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and wild English gardens. FiftyFlowers helped me achieve this by allowing me to order items I knew I would not be able to count on from a farmer's market or order through brick and mortar florists. Through FiftyFlowers, I purchased creamy ivory Peony Roses as they are one of my favorite flowers and blackberry Scabiosa for varied texture and contrast. I also added Dahlia's from a nearby farm, and various greenery, herbs and Queen Anne's lace from the acreage. The process of making my own bouquets with my bridesmaids was a fun, personal touch and it was a very calming process leading up to an exciting afternoon and evening of celebration and love. Another group of friends made the boutonniere's and centerpieces. The day after the wedding, the bouquets were used for a Sunday afternoon brunch for family and out of town guests, and then they were donated to a local hospice care center. The nurses reported what joy it brought to their clients and how beautiful the arrangements were. This again speaks to the quality of FiftyFlower's product.
