October Opulence

Knowing that she wanted a warm color pallet with a pop of bright pink, my sister, Katie, and I set out to find the perfect combination of flowers to represent the beautiful day that was ahead of her. We spent many afternoons looking for the right centerpiece ideas, sending Pinterest pins of bouquets and boutonnieres to each other, and snapping bridal magazine shots for inspiration. I came across Fifty Flowers one afternoon while searching for reasonably priced flowers for her color scheme. That is when I sent the link to my sister, Katie. A few moments later, I received a phone call with the most exuberant voice on the other end. Katie was beyond excited about the flower combinations that she came across on the website, and with my help, we were able to add extra flowers that meshed beautifully with our order. The week of her wedding, the flowers arrived tenderly wrapped in very secure boxes. We placed them in our garage (it was quite chilly out there because of the time of year), in large buckets of water with floral food. Our garage smelled absolutely fabulous...I may have caught my mom sitting out there just taking in how beautiful the blooms were and their magnificent scent! Some close friends of my sister's, Brenda and Debra, put the arrangements and bouquets together the night before the wedding, and I'm sure you can tell by the pictures that they were just stunning. We put the large ivory white hydrangeas with several creamy garden roses, the burgundy berry dahlias, the pink stock flowers, and the lush wedding eucalyptus for our bouquets. The pew bows had a mix of three flowers ( the creamy garden roses, burgundy berry dahlias, pink ranunculus, burgundy carnations or the pink stock flowers) and more of the fragrant wedding eucalyptus that was tucked into the pew's bow tie. We also created multiple arrangements for the front of the church at the altar, using the ivory white hydrangeas, burgundy berry dahlias, pink ranunculus, and burgundy carnations. Many of the guests commented on the beauty of the flowers and just how amazing the church smelled. This was an extremely special day for our family, not just that my sister was marrying the love of her life, but our dad was able to walk her down the aisle with all of our loved ones in attendance. As silly as it may sound, the beauty of the flowers added to the opulence of the entire day, from my sister's first look with our dad, to the happiest walk down the aisle for my sister and her husband. I cannot express enough just how thankful we were for the quality of the flowers, their timely arrival, and how easy the ordering process was for us.
