How to Host the Perfect Galentine's Day Party with Flowers!

Put away the green and add some pink to those red decorations you have around...it's LOVE season! Sure, we all know what February 14th is...a day for sweethearts to show their affection with romantic gifts, but let's not forget about our girl tribe!
Galentine's Day was born from a TV show in 2010...when Amy Poehler's character, Leslie on Parks and Recreation, declared she needed a day to celebrate her female friends. So what started as a basis for a single episode of a hit television series quickly became a national phenomenon we celebrate year after year!!

In the spirit of blooms for buds, we only think it's fitting to host a party including flowers, and there's no better way to have fun with your bff's than a Flower Bar!
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you plan your perfect Galentine's Day Party with a Flower Bar:
1. Choose a Venue
- Your home, a friend’s house, or a community space works well. A table or two for your flower bar is necessary, such as a six or eight foot long rectangle banquet table. If you're having food, round tables or at least a place for everyone to sit is needed as well.
2. Set a Date and Time
- This year, Galentine's Day (February 13th) is on a Thursday, so you could plan on an evening during the week or the weekend before. Check with your girls to see when most are available and with the venue for availability before you announce the party details.
3. Gather Supplies
- Flowers: Luckily for you, we've made that part easy! Just choose one of Fiftyflowers Bouquet Bar Flower Kits and you'll have a lovely variety of fresh blooms for your guests to choose!
- Containers: Take a trip to your local craft store or thrift store for a selection of vases to display the flowers in on your bar, or, for a more market look, use 3 or 5 gallon buckets or metal buckets.
- Tools: Water is a must to keep the flowers hydrated and you'll also want a selection of smaller vases for your guests to place their bouquet in after designing, or kraft paper sheets to wrap the bouquet in to take home. Fiftyflowers has a great selection of vases you can add to your order, like this adorable square glass vase!

- Decorations: Use your favorite colors to inspire your space or go crazy with pink and red! Balloons, streamers, ribbons, pretty printed napkins and plates will set the party vibe!
4. Set Up the Flower Bar

- Display the flowers in vases or buckets, ideally one type of flower per container so they are less likely to get tangled.
- Place the taller flowers in the back and the shorter flowers in front.
- Consider a backdrop for Instagram-worthy photo-ops, such as balloon arch.

5. Plan Refreshments

- Offer light snacks and drinks, like wine, mimosas, or mocktails.
- Consider some themed treats, like heart-shaped cookies or cupcakes.
- Or go all out and feature a catered meal...your besties are worth it after all!
6. Invite Guests
- Send out invites via email, or mail a paper invitation with the date, location and time.
- Consider requesting they RSVP by a certain date so you can order enough flowers, food, etc.
7. Provide Guidance
- Using a small chalkboard sign, write instructions on how to assemble a bouquet, like this:

8. Capture the Moment
- Set up a photo booth area with props to take fun pictures.
- Or relive your younger days with polaroid's for instant snapshots!
9. Enjoy the Day!

- Focus on the moment and enjoy your time with your besties!
No matter if you are single or taken and celebrating Valentine's Day or not, your girls will always have you back so celebrating them with a Galentine's Party is a great way to show you care!
